Quilt for Jordan
My name is Janet Gladys Cornish and I belong to a quilting group called Our Father's Art. We meet most Mondays at The Clearview Christian Reformed Church in Oakville to make quilts for charitable purposes. Our quilts have been given to many different people for many different reasons but the underlying message is to make various individuals feel loved and supported and to know that there are good women who are praying for them and truly care for them as a part of God's family.
The quilt given to Jordan was worked on by many hands. First the material was cut into strips and the strips sewn into squares. The squares were sewn into strips of four squares and then sewn into a rectangle of four squares wide and six squares long. Then a backing was added and finally the front of the quilt was "tied" to the back with very heavy thread.
I was honored to be able to present the quilt to the Pink Slips Car Club but I only played a very small part in the making of this lovely quilt. I was the person who did the tying.
The ladies of Our Father's Art hope that the quilt will give Jordan comfort and pleasure.
